1. Angkor Wat
- It is located in Cambodia. It was commissioned by the King Khamer Suryaverman second. The construction was started in 12th century and was completed in 1150 CE shortly after death of Suryaverman second.
- It is the largest religious memorial in the world. It was devoted to the Lord Vishnu initially and later It became Buddhist place.
- The style of building of Angkor Wat was influenced by Dravid Architectural.
- In 1992 Angor Wat was declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
2. Taj Mahal
- It is the most beautiful building in the world which is located in Agra, India besides the Yamuna river. It is also one of the seven wonders.
- It was commissioned by Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor, in the memory of his beloved wife “Mumtaz Mahal”.
- It was built between 1632 and 1653. it is a symbol of love. To build the Taj Mahal white Marbles are used in it which shines and reflects different shades of light in whole day.
- It is said when the Taj Mahal was completed, shah Jahan cut the architecture’s hands whose name was Ustad Aahmed Lahori.
- The structure of Taj mahal is influenced by Indo-Islamic style and Mughal architecture which consists large dooms semi-precious red stones, surrounding gardens, attracting pools which provide great vibes to the visitors. You must visit once for unique experience.
- UNESCO declared the Taj mahalas a world heritage site in 1983
3. The Great Wall of China
- The Great China Wall was built around 220 B.C. by Quin Shi Huang who was called the first emperor.
- It is located in China.
- It was built to protect protect China from foreign invaders like Changez khan, Manchu, Jheng and Wong.
- Magnolia was the only one who defeated China after making the great wall.
- The wall was breached twice over 2500 years. it was not much effective to protect the China from foreign invaders.
- It is just not a wall but a series of fortification.
- Its length is around 5250km (from East to West) and 5500km (from North to South).
- It takes around one and half year to walk on this wall.
- It is also one the seven wonders.
- The Wall touches the pacific ocean in the gulf of Bohai.
- UNESCO declared the Great China Wall as world heritage site in 1987.
4. Hampi
Hampi is located in Karnataka in Vijayanagar district near the Tungabhadra river. It was founded by Harihar and Buka in 14th century.
It is devoted to the lord Shiva is also called Pampa Pati which means husband of Pampa.
It was the wealthiest and prosperous city in the middle history in south India. it is also known for significant religious and tourist place. one should visit once for great experience but keep in mind, wearing jeans and taking picture or using camera in Hami is prohibited.
Vijayanagar, the glorious and prosperous dynasty, after having defeated by saltant army, they looted this beautiful city and changed it into dust. but it exists by now.
Hampi was last capital of last great Hindu of Vijayanagar and it was designated as UNESCO sites in 1986.
