India Launches Global Diplomacy Mission After Operation Sindoor
India launched a large-scale international outreach named Operation Sindoor, whereby teams of politicians from all the major political parties venture out to important countries around the world. The mission was meant to display the sanctified unity of India in combating terrorism and to articulate to the world an explanation of the recent military action in India.
The full delegation, consisting of 59 MPs from both the ruling and opposition sides, includes prominent figures such as Shashi Tharoor, Supriya Sule, Baijayant Panda, and Kanimozhi Karunanidhi. The teams will commence their visits on May 23, 2025, during which they will meet with foreign dignitaries, think tanks, and media to explain India’s side of the story while canvassing for world support.
This diplomatic effort follows a military operation occurring on May 7 when Indian forces performed precision strikes across terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to the tune of nearly 100 terrorists. This operation was christened Operation Sindoor, discussed in the all-party meeting presided over by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh; in the said meeting, Singh had said that the operation is still on and that in the event of any further menace, the strong response will be forthwith.
All the major political parties, including Congress, DMK, Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and others, had expressed full support for the actions of the Government during the meeting. Here India intends to take that rare political unity to the global level and start forging international partnerships in the fight against terrorism.
